Brunswick Co. – With the support and cooperation of Brunswick Co. Parks and Rec, The Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer Organization is excited to announce the launching of the Hammerheads South Juniors Program.

The Hammerheads South Juniors Program is being built by Brunswick County resident and Wilmington Hammerheads Youth FC staff member, John Adams who will add the Hammerheads South Director’s role to his many club responsibilities.  The simple purpose of the program is to give young Brunswick Co. soccer players who have a passion and love for the sport, more.

“The perfect child for this program is someone who is loving their soccer experience with Brunswick Co. Parks and Rec but can’t get enough soccer, and wants more,” said Adams.  “At our club we have two real goals: to share, grow and enjoy the sport of soccer with children in our community, and to provide programming that allows our players to be the best they can possibly be.  These are the reasons for our launch of Hammerheads South.”

Hammerheads South Juniors will be a program for boys and girls ages 7-10 years old.  It will include 2x a-week practices on Monday and Wednesday evenings from professional and licensed coaches and games on Saturdays.  Hammerheads South home facility is one of Brunswick County’ finest soccer parks, Cedar Grove Middle School Park.

“Brunswick County’s parks are all very well maintained, provide plenty of space, and will provide an excellent environment for these players," Adams added.

“Learning core skills and ideas at a young age is very important in our sport.  Our goal is to teach and develop these skills so that these kids have an opportunity to go beyond a recreational level of soccer,” said Wilmington Hammerheads Executive Director, Carson Porter.

“We are essentially planting a seed and want to watch it grow and develop.  Providing professional, experienced coaches with young players who love soccer is the ‘seed’.  and we are excited to watch these players and this program 'grow'.” Said Adams.

Online Registration is now available for the Hammerheads South Program within the Blue Sombrero home page.  The season will get kicked off Monday, August 28 and continue through November 15th.
