WILMINGTON, NC (JULY 26, 2022) - Entering the 2022-23 season, the Wilmington Hammerheads will continue to seek improvement, efficiency and effectiveness, all while staying focused on the players and the player's experience.
Chris Brewer Named Technical Director:
Chris Brewer, who joined the club in 2020, has been promoted to the club's Technical Director. In this new role, Brewer will work with coaches and program directors to create clear individual player and team goals throughout the club. Brewer, who's career has included time at Philadelphia Union and U.S. Soccer, will mentor coaches, provide curriculum ideas and help create consistency and clarity throughout the club.
James Ritchie Joins staff as Boys Goalkeeping Director:
James Ritchie has joined both the WHH staff and the UNCW Men's Soccer Coaching staff. He will work directly with the boys goalkeeper's in our club and collaborate with Girls GK Director, Vanessa Bosshart in guiding goalkeeping throughout the club. Ritchie comes from Wilmington after stints in Oklahoma with the USL Professional Club, OKC Energy and Tennessee SC. Originally from Scotland, Ritchie has his UEFA 'B' License.
Danny Reynolds named Club's Boys College Advisor:
Danny Reynolds, who had an excellent playing career at UNCW and is continuing as a current professional player has been named the club's Boys College Advisor. In his role, Reynolds will provide guidance and input to our oldest players who have goals of playing college soccer. Reynolds has numerous college contacts throughout the country and will be working on the player's behalf to get them seen and placed in college soccer programs.
